The time has come to announce your exciting new launch. You’ve made the product, taken the photos, and teased it on social media. The only thing left to do is tell the world via a carefully created announcement build-up.
One of the best ways to do this is via your email list. These are your most engaged customers, the ones who wanted to hear from you enough to share their email. You want them to be in the loop and ready to buy when your product drops.
Today, we’re looking at a real launch announcement email I got that does a great job of teasing the company's exciting new product. We’ll break down what they did well and, more importantly, how you can replicate it for your small business.
Launch announcement email breakdown

Subject line
This subject line immediately raises questions. What do they need to address? Is this something good or bad? Does it affect me? The emoji hints that it’s not serious, but the curiosity still draws you in.
I will say, their preview text could use work. It’s way too long and gets cut off on a desktop computer, which means it's even worse on a phone.

Header
The email opens with a colorful graphic and some copy. It’s simple, but it tells you everything you need to know. I also like the button copy, which encourages subscribers to keep up with the launch.

Copy
Below the hero image is a paragraph of copy teasing more details about the launch. It shares how excited they are and once again encourages you, as the reader, to follow along so you don’t miss out.

GIFs
This is the part that really makes this email for me. It’s a few GIFs of recent content they’ve posted on Instagram, teasing the launch. It catches your eye and makes you want to learn more, leading you to take action.

Button
Finally, there’s a second button to capture anyone who didn't click the first one. It’s got a different CTA on it, but the result is the same- sending people to their Instagram account.
My overall review
I love this email. It’s perfectly branded, oozes with personality, and builds excitement for Nature Bee’s launch. It makes you want to follow along so you can be a part of the excitement.
How to write an email like this
Keep it simple
This email is only a few hundred words long. It has one headline, two CTA buttons, and three video GIFs. It’s short and sweet, but it does the job it needs to with finesse.
Your emails don’t have to be long to be effective. They should only be as long as you need to convey your point, however long that is. I challenge you, next time you write an email, to see how short you can make it without it being confusing or of poor quality. It's a great way to exercise your copywriting skills.
Encourage audience participation
The goal of this email is to encourage subscribers to follow Nature Bee on Instagram to see the announcement when it drops. This makes them feel like part of a community, rather than someone for them to sell to. The more engaged customers are, the more likely they are to buy when the time comes.
How can you get your audience to participate in your next launch? It could be as simple as inviting them to follow you on social media, like this email does, or as involved as inviting them to a live launch party at your storefront.
Use eye-catching elements
I said it before, but I’ll say it again. I love the GIFs of their Instagram reels. It makes the email more memorable and really makes you want to check out their account to see the full videos.
GIFs are a great eye-catching element to include in your email if they work for your brand. You could also consider a bold graphic, funny video, or interactive item if you have the coding skills for that. All of these will make your email more engaging and memorable.
Don’t forget the preview text
If the preview text was better, this email would be pretty much perfect. As it is, that part makes me cringe a little, because they could have prevented it so easily! All they needed to do was shorten the text a bit.
Never forget to check your preview text before hitting send. Make sure it’s short enough to see in most inboxes, especially on mobile. When in doubt, shorten it more.
An email like this would be great for your next launch announcement. It will help you build hype, get your audience involved, and grow your customer relationships.
